In the film The Meg 3D 2018, a deep-sea research crew led by Dr. Zhang explores a hidden oceanic trench. They unwittingly breach a thermal layer, releasing a 75-foot Megalodon, a prehistoric shark thought extinct. Jonas Taylor, a disgraced rescue diver, is called to contain the threat. The monster escapes into the open Pacific, heading toward a crowded tourist beach in Thailand. Taylor and the team must use their submersibles and wits to track and kill the apex predator in a race against time, preventing a bloodbath in the shallow waters where it becomes an unstoppable killing machine.
