In the film The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies 3D 2014, after the dragon Smaug attacks Lake-town, the people of Lake-town and the elves of Mirkwood march to the Lonely Mountain to claim a share of its treasure. Thorin Oakenshield, consumed by dragon-sickness, refuses and fortifies the mountain. This standoff is interrupted by the arrival of two massive Orc armies. The Dwarves, Elves, and Men must unite to fight the common enemy in a colossal battle on and below the Lonely Mountain. The fate of the North is decided as Thorin reclaims his honor and Bilbo Baggins plays a crucial role in the victory.
