The Monkey King 3D 2014 follows Sun Wukong a mischievous and powerful monkey king imprisoned under a mountain for five hundred years for his rebellious actions. The young monk Tang Sanzang frees him seeking redemption for the monkey king. Tang Sanzang embarks on a perilous journey to the West to obtain sacred scriptures. Sun Wukong joins him along with a pig demon and a river monster. They encounter treacherous demons and supernatural creatures that seek to hinder their mission. The monkey king must learn obedience and humility to protect his master and complete the journey. This fantasy film is based on the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West.
