Rogue One A Star Wars Story 3D 2016 takes place between Episodes III and IV. The Empire has built the Death Star a planet destroying weapon. Rebel intelligence learns of its existence and learns that a flaw may be hidden in the design. Jyn Erso whose father Galen helped build the Death Star is recruited by the Rebel Alliance. She joins a team including Cassian Andor a reprogrammed Imperial droid K 2SO and other soldiers. They steal the Death Star plans from the Imperial vault on Scarif. The entire team is killed during the mission but successfully transmits the plans to the Rebel fleet. Princess Leia receives the data setting the stage for A New Hope. This standalone film features no Jedi and follows ordinary soldiers in the Star Wars universe.
