Charlie Victor Romeo 3D 2013. Six actors perform on a minimal cockpit set. They recreate the final moments of actual airline emergencies using transcripts from cockpit voice recorders. The production originated as an award-winning Off-Off-Broadway play in 1999. The 3D filming took place at the 3LD Art & Technology Center in New York. The footage was shot with stereoscopic cameras to capture the depth and tension of the live performance. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2013. The documentary covers six emergencies including the Japanese 747 crash of 1985, the DHL shoot-down over Baghdad in 2003, and a 2004 incident over Australia where passengers helped land a plane after pilots were incapacitated.
