Cane Toads The Conquest 3D Poisonous cane toads were introduced to Australia in 1935 to combat beetles ravaging sugar plantations. Since then the toads have multiplied and begun threatening the entire ecosystem with crocodiles and dingo dogs suffering greatly. 3D technology creates a film full of tension and humor from the point of view of the toads. Viewers experience the world of these mysterious creatures feeling like a toad hunting for food and then plunging into toad reproduction. The film became a sensation at the Sundance Independent Film Festival drawing enthusiasm from audiences and critics. Post production took place at Peter Jacksons Weta Digital studio in New Zealand where many Hollywood films including Avatar were refined. The directors subtle sense of humor turns the risky plot into a gripping story full of irony. This documentary uses advanced 3D to achieve an immersion effect.
