In the film Shrek 3D 2001, the solitary ogre Shrek finds his swamp invaded by exiled fairytale creatures. To get it back, he agrees to rescue Princess Fiona for the scheming Lord Farquaad. Accompanied by the talkative Donkey, Shrek battles a dragon and retrieves Fiona. On the journey back, they form an unlikely bond. Shrek discovers Fiona is cursed to transform into an ogre at night. Farquaad interrupts their blossoming romance, but the dragon intervenes. Shrek confesses his love, breaking Fiona's curse permanently. They marry, and Shrek accepts his new life and friends, reclaiming his swamp with Fiona by his side.
