Rio 3D 2011 Blu a rare domesticated Spixs Macaw who cannot fly lives with his owner Linda in Minnesota. Scientists discover Blu is the last male of his species and take him to Rio de Janeiro to mate with the last female named Jewel. The two birds are kidnapped by smugglers and must escape together despite their differences. They embark on an adventure through the lively streets and carnivals of Rio joined by a toucan a cardinal and a canary. Blu and Jewel discover the true meaning of freedom friendship and love against the backdrop of Brazils breathtaking scenery and infectious music. The film celebrates life and the beauty of Brazil.
