A mysterious viral video circulates on the internet reviving the wrath of Sadako Yamamura a vengeful spirit with long black hair. Akane a high school teacher becomes involved when her student disappears after watching the video. She teams with Takanori a man whose father studied Sadako. They discover that Sadako can now emerge from smartphones and other screens. The spirit manifests through a young girl who channels her power. Akane must fight Sadako using an ancient artifact that can seal the ghost. The final battle determines whether the curse will spread across the digital world.
