Measuring the World 3D 2012
Measuring the World 3D 2012 follows German aristocrat Alexander von Humboldt who was destined to enjoy life at his ancestral castle but dreams of dangerous journeys. Karl Gauss the poor son of peasants displays a bright talent for mathematics and escapes poverty. Humboldt travels to South America exploring jungles rivers and mountains measuring everything he encounters. Gauss remains in Germany developing mathematical theories and astronomy while rarely leaving his home. Their different paths converge toward an epochal meeting. Humboldt visits Gauss in Göttingen to compare their discoveries. The film explores how two obsessed men one an explorer and one a recluse revolutionized science in the early 19th century. This historical drama is based on Daniel Kehlmanns novel.
