Andy Warhols Frankenstein 3D 1973. A child uses a guillotine to cut off someone’s head early in the story. Director Paul Morrissey plays with variations on the Prometheus myth, adding large amounts of violence and sex while creating a gothic atmosphere in Frankenstein’s castle. Frankenstein’s nymphomaniac sister, who is also the mother of his children, openly enjoys herself with servants in front of the family. A servant played by Joe Dallesandro begins to suspect something is wrong, especially after he sees his friend’s head on one of Frankenstein’s monsters. The film is made in a comedic style, though not everyone will appreciate its sense of humor.
