Ice Age Continental Drift 3D 2012 follows Manny Sid and Diego who become separated from their families after their continent breaks apart. They float across the ocean on a fragment of ice. The group faces pirates led by the sinister Captain Gutt a gigantopithecus. The pirates attack and capture Sids grandmother. Manny and his friends battle the pirate crew using icebergs and sea creatures. They must reach the mainland before Gutt. Manny reunites with his wife and daughter. Sid saves his grandmother from the pirates. The film explores unity family and the bonds that hold friends together against the backdrop of the ever changing prehistoric world. Scrat continues his pursuit of the acorn causing the continental drift.
