Green Lantern 3D 2011 follows test pilot Hal Jordan who receives a ring from a dying alien named Abin Sur. The ring chooses Hal to join the Green Lantern Corps an interstellar police force that uses willpower to create energy constructs. Hal travels to the planet Oa where he trains under Sinestro and meets other Lanterns. The villain Parallax a being made of fear attacks Earth seeking to destroy the Corps. Hal struggles to overcome his own fear to use the ring effectively. He returns to Earth and creates a giant energy construct to fight Parallax saving the planet. The film introduces Hals love interest Carol Ferris and his friend Hector Hammond who is infected by Parallax.
